The MBLEx covers a lot of ground. Anatomy, kinesiology, pathology, ethics, client assessment, and more. A good study plan helps you focus on what matters most so you do not waste time on things you already know.
What the MBLEx covers
The exam has seven content areas. Each one makes up a different percentage of the test:
- Anatomy and physiology (11%)
- Kinesiology (12%)
- Pathology and contraindications (13%)
- Benefits and effects of techniques (14%)
- Client assessment, reassessment, and treatment planning (17%)
- Ethics, boundaries, laws, and regulations (15%)
- Guidelines for professional practice (18%)
How to build a study plan
Start 4 to 6 weeks before your test date. Break your study time into blocks. Spend more time on the content areas that make up the biggest part of the test. Here is a simple weekly plan:
- 1Week 1-2: Review anatomy, kinesiology, and pathology from your school notes
- 2Week 3: Focus on client assessment and treatment planning
- 3Week 4: Study ethics, boundaries, and professional practice
- 4Week 5-6: Take full practice tests and review mistakes
